Hans J. Wegner is regarded as one of the pioneering founders of Danish modernism and minimalist furniture design. With his enduring love of good craftsmanship and constant pursuit of minimalist expression, Wegner paved the way for a new generation of furniture designers.
His iconic furniture, such as the Wishbone Chair and Shell Chair, has repeatedly demonstrated that thought-through design never goes out of fashion. Wegner received many design awards, and his works have been displayed at MoMA, New York as well as other exhibition venues. Wegner died in January 2007.
